The site is identified as an allocated site in the Joint Core Strategy as part of the wider ‘Golden Valley’, with the allocation for a mix of new housing and hi-tech cyber-related employment floorspace. The Council has also prepared a masterplan for the ‘Golden Valley’ site that identifies the 18 acre site for a mix of housing (medium to higher density), cyber / innovation type office and R&D uses and town centre uses. Importantly the site sits in the middle of the wider site allocation and the Council needs the site to be developed in order to deliver key road and green space connections linking all parts of the redevelopment opportunity.
